We decided to celebrate our
19th Anniversary in Charleston, SC,
and we had a blast!

Our first stop on Saturday, 07/31/2010, was a short hop from our hotel with a walk on the Sullivan's Island beaches.

Pelican's take the low 'road'.

The cargo ships bring in the goods.

McKeen runs on the beach.

McKeen discovers clay patches in the sand.  Dad said YUCK - McKeen says COOL!

There were several folks kiteboarding on the water (and in the air), and they were AWESOME!

McKeen, Michaela and Miriam between the main beach and the sandbar -
with all the Kiteboarders behind them.

Sunday was spent at the beach.
We spent our time at the
Isle of Palms County Park.

Today's castles introduced us to
John (12) from Ashville!  He made some
super additions to today's creation!

Michaela and Tom have been working on spiral staircases.

This is John from Ashville's first solo creation - he was AWESOME!

Monday was also spent at the
Isle of Palms County Park.

Today's castles introduced us to
Oliver from Scottsdale, AZ and his Grandmother from SC.
We were especially grateful to meet new friends
from Greenville that 'worked' with us for two days!
Johnny and his brother Thomas; and
Brandon and his brother Adam.

Tuesday was also spent at the
Isle of Palms County Park.

Our new friends from Greenville, Johnny, Brandon and Adam
saved our castle building overnight by staying late and arriving early!
We didn't have to completely re-dig our hole, and we saved
most of Michaela's corner creation see below.

Miriam is taking on the inside.
Michaela is polishing up her corner creation.

The pit takes shape towards the end of the day.

Johnny from Greenville shaped the front entrance.

This was the side seen from the beach.

Michaela and McKeen's drip castles.

Tom's Starfish

McKeen is learning a new skill!

Miriam cuts the inside while Tom cuts the outside.

After our 2nd day on the beach,
we walked the Ravenel Bridge.
What a wonderful evening!
